About this TEF Canada 2023 practice set
This 2023 TEF Canada practice set mirrors the structure and difficulty of the official TEF Canada exam administered in 2023. Each question is independently authored to match the format that IRCC accepts for Express Entry and permanent residence applications. Use it to benchmark your CLB level before you book the official sitting.
The set covers two of the four official sections: Compréhension écrite (60 minutes, 40 questions) and Compréhension orale (40 minutes, 40 questions). Reading items test inference and sourcing across short administrative texts, news articles, and workplace emails. Listening items use Canadian French audio at conversational pace. The official exams play each clip once, with limited replays on specific TEF interview segments since September 2025; in this practice set you can replay each clip while you learn. Writing and speaking practice live on the dedicated TEF Canada skill pages and are not part of this 2023 year set.
These are original practice items, not leaked or reproduced official papers. The 2023 reference describes the exam version they target, not the source of the questions themselves. Topics rotate through immigration and settlement, work and career, daily life, and Canadian civic context, matching the topic mix the TEF Canada test bank used in 2023.
After you finish a section, the result screen shows your raw score, a percentage estimate, and a per-question review with explanations. That review is the most useful part of any practice attempt for a TEF Canada candidate working toward CLB 7 or higher for the federal skilled-worker French points.
